The Barron River is one of the oldest hotels in Cairns being first built as a lodging house in 1887 & then opened by The Tully family as a hotel in 1927. It has a long & rich history etched into the fabric of the hotel. The veranda is a great place to relax, overlooking the old timber mill and the rail lines where the Kuranda Railway journeys past each day, lade with tourists. The bar is full of colourful characters, as it has been for over 100 years. With a large range of cold beers & cider on tap, Keno and TAB, the hotel certainly caters for those who want to have a great time. The Gaming Room features the latest gaming machines and link jackpots, as well as fantastic giveaway promotions.

There's live music on the front deck at sunset every Friday night featuring great local talent from around the area and the last Thursday of each month is The Barron's Trivia night which generates lots of local grey matter ! There is plenty of space for parking out the back and a courtesy coach servicing the local area. The hotel also has a Liquor Shop attached to it so you can grab a few coldies to enjoy at home.
